The NARCAN® Direct Program is funded through Wisconsin’s share of the State Opioid Response Grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
Prescription Opioid Overdose information
Many prescription pain medications are opioids. Read our Prescription Opioid Safety sheet to help identify and learn more about opioids. Consult with your physician or pharmacist If in doubt about your pain medication.
Taking more opioid medication than prescribed, combining them with alcohol and other medications or illicit drugs can result in a life threatening overdose. If you have asthma, sleep apnea, or reduced kidney function you may have a higher risk for opioid overdose.
Unified Community Services is a Narcan Direct provider through the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Narcan® (Naloxone) is used to reverse an overdose and can save lives.
Please review our Opioid Overdose Prevention and Narcan Nasal Spray Instruction sheet for additional information.
We are able to provide Narcan® free of charge after a short training.
